A Note From Todd — Why I Started CareMN
In 2018, my father had a stroke.
Fortunately he recovered — but for a period of time, our family wasn’t sure what the road ahead looked like. We thought he might need in-home care, and I started making phone calls to find out what our options were.
I was completely lost.
Agencies used terms I had never heard before. Long-term care insurance. ADLs — Activities of Daily Living. Elimination periods. Benefit triggers. I was trying to navigate one of the most stressful situations our family had ever faced, and I couldn’t even understand what people were telling me.
I remember thinking: if this is confusing for me — someone with a business background who is comfortable making phone calls and asking questions — how overwhelming must this be for families who aren’t?
My father ended up recovering well enough that he didn’t need ongoing care. But that experience never left me. I saw a real gap — families in crisis, trying to find help, and struggling to navigate a system that felt unnecessarily complicated.
So I started CareMN Home Care.
My mission from day one has been simple: be the agency I wished had existed when I was making those phone calls. Explain things clearly. Make the process easy. Accept long-term care insurance and handle all the paperwork so families don’t have to figure it out alone. And above all — provide consistent, genuine care from people who truly want to be there.
Years later, CareMN has grown into one of the west metro’s most trusted home care agencies. My father is doing well. And every family that calls us gets the same thing I was looking for that day — someone who speaks plainly, listens carefully, and actually helps.
